This is Heather's fiance Kyle. I am talking to you all today on behalf of Heather with a heavy heart. We were just informed that Shy passed away today. The details of what happened are unclear, but we know it was not from a lack of love and care from her new owners and online followers. Please keep her in your hearts, and know that she will always hold a part of ours. We want to thank everyone for the overwhelming support that we received through this process. It reminds us of how truly generous strangers can be. Future posts will discuss what is to be done with the donated funds. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts and know that Shy thanks you too.
How heartbreaking to hear!
ReplyDeleteShe survived so much and had a chance at such a happy ever after story.
Big hugs and giant Dane kisses from Seattle to you, Heather, and Shy's family.
We are so sorry to hear this! RIP Shy, we love you!
ReplyDeleteMuch love to Heather, Amy of Two Pitties in the City, Shy's new owners, and everyone at the veterinary hospital who have cared, loved, and helped Shy. You are amazing and thank you for everything you did for this special girl.
We were so shocked and saddened to have heard the news. There was just something about Shy that really touched people, and even through the Internet they felt this personal connection with her. We could all tell she was very well-loved and we do admire your dedication to her, and we are happy to know you will be part of many more animals' futures.
ReplyDeleteI am so shocked and sad to hear this! I am so glad that she found a home where she knew love before she passed away!
ReplyDeleteSuch devastating news. I am so sorry! Shy captured so many hearts and touched so many of us. Her absence will leave a huge hole in this world! :-(
ReplyDeleteI was so shocked and heartbroken to hear about Shy's passing. You did an amazing thing by giving that pup a second chance and I admire you so much for the way you fought for her. Because of you, she left us knowing that she was loved immensely by you, her new owners, and all of us in blog land who were praying for her and contributing to her cause. You are amazing and I hope that your pain can be eased in this sad time.

I'm very sorry to hear this. I hope the memories you have of her, although painful now, provide comfort in the future. Thank you so much for giving her love.
ReplyDeleteSo sad but she was very loved in the end. I think that's what all dogs want in the end- just to be loved.

Poor Shy, and poor Heather. I hope there is a little glimmer of happiness in knowing that Shy got to spend her last weeks in a warm, loving home.
ReplyDeleteAleksandra
I am so sad to hear this. At least she got to experience a loving home before she crossed. I am so terribly sad for you.
ReplyDeleteI am so sad to hear this news. It is good to know that Shy had a loving and happy home. And she knew what love was. I know she will always be in your hearts.
ReplyDeleteTo Heather:
ReplyDeleteYou were a great champion for Khloe/Shy. You were the reason she was able to live the past few months so happy, knowing someone was on her side. She past knowing that people do care.
To Khloe's Family:
From out of no where you swooped down and took this wonderful lil pup into your home. You were like angels to Khloe...taking her in, loving her, caring for her. Your loss is great, though she was not with you long...she touched your heart like she did so many.

Shy, you are loved...you are missed...rest now sweet girl.
I am without words. My thoughts are with you and all those that helped care and rehabilitate Shy/ Khloe. What a great loss.
ReplyDeleteNo one can wish for more in this world than to be surrounded by a circle of love, such as that which was created by the two of you and all of the online supporters of Khloe. You did the best you could for her. You made her tail wag with joy. I am so very sorry for your loss.
ReplyDeleteWe are shocked and saddened to have learned this news, and our heartfelt condolences go out to Heather, Kyle, A & E from Two Pitties In The City, and Shy/Khloe's new family. We can only try to believe that there was some higher purpose to Shy's short and struggle-filled life, and that perhaps the funds raised in her honor are needed elsewhere. Shy's life and the joy she took in it despite all she had been through was an inspiration and a lesson to us all, and though we never met her personally, we will miss her dearly. May she rest peacefully and always remembered with much love.
ReplyDeleteOh no. I'm a foster mom too so can imagine how awful you feel. I'm so sorry.
ReplyDeleteYou made Shy's life so much better.
XOXO, Megan.
So sorry to hear this. You made her last year so much better.
ReplyDeleteOur wonderful 5 year old pittie was cared for by a vet in MS for 4 years after hurricane Katrina before she eventually found her forever home with us, so our hearts really go out to you all for faithfully caring for her!
